Odesa is a major port city in the southwestern part of Ukraine and the administrative center of Odesa Oblast. Founded in 1794 on the site of a former Turkish fortress on the coast of the Black Sea, the city has a rich history and a strong multicultural heritage.

Rich architecture and a distinctive urban landscape shape Odesa’s identity. Among its main attractions are Theater Square, the Holy Assumption Cathedral, and the House of Scientists. Beneath the streets lies a vast network of catacombs — one of the largest underground labyrinth systems in the world.

Odesa is also known for its distinctive sense of humor and vibrant cultural life, reflected in numerous festivals, street performances, and creative spaces. Its cuisine combines Black Sea seafood with Mediterranean and Eastern European influences, with local markets such as Pryvoz offering an authentic taste of the city.
